Emergency Closures

This page should give you all of the information that you need in the event that the school  has to close. School closure will be as a result of an event making it unsafe or unsuitable for children and staff to be at school. The most common events include; adverse weather (snow), heating failure, flood, loss of a major service.

More recently, parts of or all of the school may need to close due to COVID-19. In this case, we will communicate with you accordingly, in line with government guidance and advice from Public Health England. 

In the event that the federation has to close (or partially close), the decision is made by the school’s leadership and Chair of Governors. It is a decision that is not taken lightly and is always in the best interests of the learning community. Our aim will always be to communicate fully with you so that you know what is going on at all times. We will aim to keep you informed using the following media.

• Our school website will be updated to inform you of what is going on.
• Hampshire County Council’s website will display detailed information of all Hampshire’s school closures. The link is on this page of our website.
• We will use the Riders Facebook page to inform you.
• We will use our text service to ensure that you are kept up to date via text message.
