School Timings

As outlined in our Attendance section of the school website and in the Attendance Policy, it is important that pupils come to school every day and that they are on time. Strong routines and expectations at home help to promote both positive attendance, punctuality and behaviours and attitudes to learning.

At Riders, the learning starts as soon as the school day does. This means that if children are late for school, they miss part of their learning. If they are often late, they will miss large proportions of their learning and this may impact on them make strong progress, achieving strong outcomes and, over time, may affect their life chances.

When children are not at school, there is potentially a safeguarding risk and the school must know of your child's whereabouts at all times, and be able to contact you. 

The school day timings are as follows:

Start of Day =          Juniors     8:45am (Doors open at 8:35am)                   

                                  Infants     8:45am (Doors open at 8:35am)

Playtime =               10:45am – 11:00am

Lunchtime =             Juniors     12:00pm – 1:00pm                                   

                                   Infants     12:00pm – 1:00pm

End of Day =            3:15pm (Juniors and Infants)

Infant School = 32.5 hours per week. 

Junior School = 32.5 hours per week.
