Inter-Schools Sporting Competitions - March 2022

In the week beginning Monday 28th March,  we had the opportunity to take part in different sporting events across a range of year groups.

On Monday KS1 travelled up to Southdowns College for a cricket festival, run by the students. The children worked through a carousel of activities including, throwing, catching, batting and fielding.

On Thursday Morning our Year 3/4 Tag Rugby team entered a Tag Rugby festival at Oaklands School. With this being the first event this group had entered they played well scoring trys in every game that they played. The highlights of the day were beating Morelands Primary School in our first game 6-4  and in a close fought game against Mill Rythe, Isobel picking the ball up in her own half and beating all of the Mill Rythe players, running half of the pitch to score her first ever try in our last game.

Thursday afternoon we took the Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team back to Oaklands for their festival. There were 2 leagues of 6 with the top 2 going through to the semi-finals. Riders managed to end the day in 3rd place with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Highlights were the 7-7 draw St James B team and a last minute winner in a 7-6 win against Padnell B team. Both teams played in good spirit even with the adverse weather conditions.
